Information Services is the Computer Network division of the Information Office at Arcosanti. Ivan Fritz, the Network Architect and Administrator, installed the Network System at Arcosanti in May, 2000 and continues to serve wider users.
The Network Department here serves a three-fold function.

The first function is to provide and administer services much like those found in a normal corporate environment. That includes several servers for e-mail, file and application sharing, and web content. Daily backups protect the work of our numerous departments.

Our second function is to provide tech support to our computer users, as well as purchase, maintain and repair workstations on the network. Our third function is to serve as an Internet Service Provider that offers the high-speed access, e-mail addresses and web space to residents and employees within the Arcology and beyond.

Eventually we would also like to have Cosanti (Scottsdale, AZ) and Arcosanti connected and sharing information instantaneously, to have a larger online presence allowing greater communication with schools and other organizations which share our ideals, and to have all living spaces connected to the internet. T1 service opens up exciting options such as video streaming, web casts, etc.
