How to Support
Donor Programs

There are a variety of ways that you can contribute to the Cosanti Foundation. We depend on support from individuals and companies to supplement current projects at Arcosanti and Cosanti. As we build funds from private donations, we also have a better opportunity to receive public grants because of our ability to provide matching funds.

The following funds have been established for fundraising opportunities:

Scholarship Fund:
Scholarship FundThis fund provides opportunities for students to experience the Arcosanti project. You may assist a selected recipient in completing the 5-week workshop In some cases, this may lead to longer-term internships in which the student will volunteer time in a specific department for further skill development. Tuition for the 5-week workshop is $1000, with an additional $50 deposit paid by the applicant.

Building Preservation Fund:
Building FundThe Building Preservation Fund has been developed to assist with restoration efforts of buildings designed by Soleri. There are two high priority projects. Cosanti, located in Paradise Valley, Arizona, is designated as an Arizona Historic Site. It provides a unique bio-climatic architectural environment in the desert southwest. Earth House, the oldest building at Cosanti was built in 1956-1958, and exemplifies the Cosanti structures that feature many imaginative design elements, reflecting equally innovative construction techniques.

Also in need of restoration is the Dome House located in Cave Creek, Arizona. Registered in the State Register of Historic Places, this building was completed in 1950 was one of Soleri’s first projects. With his friend, Mark Mills, Soleri built this residence for Leona Woods. With a desire to capturing the desert ambience, the house was built with a glass dome looking at the sky, while most of the building is ground level.

Architectural Model Preservation Fund:
Model PreservationThe Model Restoration Fund supports work on many of Soleri’s models. Plaster models of Soleri-designed Bridges and Dams were built in the 1960’s and are in need of repair. There are also Arcology project models in various mediums needing attention.

Archival Preservation Fund:
Soleri ArchivesOne of the most critical preservation issues facing the Soleri Archives is to provide climate-controlled storage facility for our collections. The paper archives need repair and proper storage systems for the preservation of the materials. The Soleri Archives collection includes original drawings (sketchbooks, scrolls and loose leaves), original sculpture and crafts (ceramic, metal and concrete), historic photographs, original manuscripts, audio and video tapes, CD-ROMS, and library databases.

Memorial and Tribute Gifts:
The Memorial and Tribute Gifts Program offers an opportunity to memorialize a special individual or celebrate a particular occasion. A meaningful gift not only expresses the donor's wishes, but also supports the Foundation’s commitment to education. We have utilized past gifts from friends, former board members and alumni to assist with tuition costs and to further the projects at Arcosanti and Cosanti.

Endowment Fund:
Late Cosanti Board of Directors Member Evelyn Smith made a gift of $50,000 to the Endowment Fund at Arcosanti, substantially increasing it to $55,000. Our goal is to grow this fund to provide long range support for the activities of the Cosanti Foundation.
