Visitors approach Arcosanti via a two-and-a-half mile dirt road. Though thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of staff time have been dedicated to maintaining it, the condition of the road has never been more than marginally acceptable for public access. Bad weather and heavy use accelerates its deterioration. This situation discourages the visitors who are interested in visiting Arcosanti, thus affecting our educational mission and the potential of raising funds through bell sales and other services.
