Paolo Soleri's Glossary of Terms |
Duration, D
Duration is the offspring of miniaturization
(M) and complexification (C). There could not be duration in a
reality not animated by the M.C. "methodology."
If the past
is the whole of reality, full Duration
is the exact and exacting recollection of it. The full recollection
of the past is resurrection (in other
words) is total revelation of the past to itself. This is
what Duration is.
Duration is then the complete evolutionary
sequence registered in the past when awakened in the self-revelation that the becoming
may eventually generate. Memory is the "disorderly" display of durational fragments.
