On March 5th 2023, the Arcosanti Community Council is proud to present “Music Meets Bells” an amalgam of Santoor and Odissi dance in a spontaneous live conversation with World Recognized musician Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya and Odissi Dancer Guru Sanchita Bhattacharya for a magical afternoon of Classical Indian music & dance that touches the inner soul!

Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya is a master of the Santoor, a 100-stringed ancient instrument similar to the hammered dulcimer. Bhattacharya comes from a musical family and studied with internationally known musician Ravi Shankar. He recorded with George Harrison on the world renowned album “Chants of India” and has performed around the globe, including previous appearances at Arcosanti and Cosanti in Arizona. Guru Sanchita Bhattacharya is one of the leading Odissi dancers who has taken this form to stratospheric heights, in the global arena. They will be accompanied by tabla player Ayan Banerjee. The tabla is a set of traditional hand drums played with fingers and palms.
