Compensation: Up to $95,000, dependent on experience, + full benefits, + bonus. Flexible schedule, with
three visits to Cosanti weekly at minimum, and one visit to Arcosanti weekly at minimum.

ABOUT THE COSANTI FOUNDATION & COSANTI ORIGINALS
Founded in 1965 by Paolo and Colly Soleri, the Cosanti Foundation (TCF) is an Arizona-based nonprofit
educational 501(c)(3) organization that operates two world-famous, open-to-the-public locations:
Cosanti in Paradise Valley and Arcosanti near Mayer. The Cosanti Foundation also owns and operates the
for-profit Cosanti Originals, where we make our world-famous bronze and ceramic wind bells and other
artisan items which support our ongoing efforts. Originally established to support Paolo Soleri’s noted
architectural and urban planning concepts and research, the Foundation exists to explore the theory of
arcology (architecture+ecology). TCF’s current mission is “to inspire a reimagined urbanism that builds
resilient and equitable communities sustainably integrated with the natural world.”

Position Overview:
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for all aspects of the Cosanti Originals subsidiary business,
including strategies and execution to meet or exceed sales budget and expense goals. The GM maintains
oversight, direction, and management of the entire Cosanti Originals team, consisting of approximately
50-team members, in two locations that includes two bronze foundries, two ceramic studios and one
jewelry studio. The role includes direct oversight and responsibility for two physical retail galleries &
sales, eCommerce business and proprietary product manufacturing and production. The position must
be a hands-on manager who will also focus our team on achieving ambitious results.

Key Responsibilities:
• Meet annual goals as part of a budget process, which includes driving sales,
controlling expenses, and working with accounting manager
• Establish and lead the execution of business strategies, based upon analysis of business
trends and a keen understanding of the Cosanti Originals brand
• Analyze metrics and isolate opportunities for productivity and process improvements
• Drive brand loyalty through sales leadership
• Deliver, through the team a consistent experience for visitors, while ensuring that all daily
operational needs meet established standards
• Ignite the energy of the team to manage competing priorities and operational logistics
that result in an experience that under-promises and over-delivers
• Solicit new channels and partnerships to drive sales growth and new markets
• Oversee all day-to-day retail and production operations at two locations, that operate
seven days a week, 60-miles apart, almost 365 days a year

• Set strategic and seasonally appropriate production goals
• Empower artisans to develop new products and/or custom pieces for business clients and
collectors
• Partner with managers on HR issues and hiring requirements
• Empower and support design direction
• Prioritize customer service; empower the sales team to “make it right” for the customer
• Ensure eCommerce orders are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner
• Develop and execute engaging marketing and promotional plans
Skills Required:

• Experience developing strategies, executing goals, and driving business results. Strong problem-
solving skills

• Experience working with an accountant and a general understanding of budgets, fiscal
management and working with spreadsheets
• Strong project and people management skills
• Customer-centric mindset
• Ability to inject innovation and creativity into retail growth
• Effective communication skills with team, direct reports, senior leadership, and externally
• Ability to work flexible hours and meet demanding expectations

Travel Required:
You will manage two locations 60 miles apart and weekly travel is required between the 2 locations.
Personal vehicle/transportation required.

Physical Requirements:
• Due to the unique nature of the TCF built environment, ability to ascend/descend stairs and
move safely over uneven terrain
• Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds
